I’m Demi Palecek — a queer working-class veteran and the proud daughter of a Mexican immigrant.

I served in the military for over 14 years. I survived sexual assault while on duty, and later, I was deployed to defend our nation’s Capitol after January 6th. I’ve stood on the frontlines of defending democracy before, and now, I’m running to do it again.

I’ve fought for trans service members, advocated for survivors of military sexual assault, and organized in my own community to feed, house, and protect our neighbors.

Now, I’m running to bring that same fight — for justice, compassion, and accountability — to Springfield.
