Goal thermometer

Democracy and Progress is a Political Action Committee (DAPPAC) that works to protect voter equality and ballot access. It supports progressive causes that defend and uphold Constitutional and human rights.

Democracy and Progress was founded in response to overwhelming grassroots support for the Electoral College Petition created by Daniel Brezenoff, a clinical social worker, professor and lifelong activist. The Petition calls on Conscientious Electors to cast their ballots for Secretary Hillary Clinton, the popular vote winner, and against Donald Trump, when they vote on December 19. The petition is the largest in history with nearly 5 million supporters.

Daniel started Democracy and Progress with $75,000 seeded from the fundraising efforts of the Electoral College Petition Movement on GoFundMe. The GoFundMe campaign is still an active grassroots campaign and continues to support the efforts of Democracy and Progress.

Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is now leading the popular vote by close to 3 million votes.

Your support is critical. Speeding towards the deadline of December 19, your contributions will be used to fund the strategic objections of the Petition Movement.

· Publish an Open Letter to Electors signed by a broad coalition of Americans in major newspapers across the country

· Promote awareness of the petition through both grassroots and mass media advertising

· Initiate direct contact with Electors by carefully chosen individuals and group representatives

· Organize and direct grassroots action for a volunteer force of more than 13,000

· Coordinate and promote protests in state capitals on December 19

The Open Letter endeavor will be powerful. And it requires investment. To date, we have raised enough funds to place the Open Letter in 12 newspapers. Additional contributions will extend the campaign’s reach.

But, we are on a deadline. The newspapers require that we submit payment in full by Friday, December 9. Our dream is to publish the letter in the Washington Post. This requires an investment of an additional $120,000.

We intend that all funds raised will support the Petition Movement. In the unlikely event that any funds remain beyond December 19, they will be used exclusively to support the mission of the Democracy and Progress Political Action Committee.

Again, we can’t do this without your support. We are proud to stand beside you in this fight. Thank you.
