Creators for Democracy is a civic initiative built on a simple belief: that democracy's future belongs to the people with the courage to tell new stories about who we are.
On July 1–2, 2026, we're bringing that belief to life at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, DC. A free, two-day civic festival. Part of America's 250th anniversary. A declaration that our most powerful civic infrastructure isn't in marble monuments, it's in the communities creators build every single day.
Democracy's future is being written every day; in podcasts and newsletters, on TikTok and YouTube, in the stories creators tell about who we are and who we can become together. They are the ones translating complexity into meaning, turning local stories into shared possibility, and showing people what it looks like to imagine something better. That work isn't separate from democracy. It is democracy — practiced every day, in public, with courage.
Your gift makes that possible. It funds meaningful honoraria for creators being recognized for the civic leaders they already are. It keeps the festival free and open to everyone. It helps resource the program to new library systems, one growing movement rooted in the belief that civic institutions and the people who build community around them are the infrastructure democracy needs right now.
This is where it starts. Help us build what comes next.
