Democracy, Extremism, and the Dobbs Decision
Words enshrined in the founding documents of the infant United States speak of rights bestowed on humankind by the Creator, among them: Equality, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The Constitution asserts the nation's creation to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, promote the general Welfare & secure the Blessings of Liberty for future generations.
When asked what form of government had been adopted for the United States, Benjamin Franklin replied: "A republic—if you can keep it."
Now, extremism threatens the existence of our democratic republic and the founding documents on which it stands.
