The Democratic Mayors Political Action Committee’s mission is to elevate, amplify and support Democratic mayors. We serve as the vehicle for Democratic mayors to engage in national politics and campaigns.

Mayors get things done. They understand the issues and challenges of their communities, the messages that resonate with their residents and how to engage and mobilize their cities. As the most trusted elected leaders and the closest to the people, mayors are extremely effective messengers and are able to respond rapidly and efficiently. Mayors have the ability to localize national policy debates and translate them to convey how national issues directly impact each and every one of us and our communities. All politics is local – and mayors are the Democratic voice in local politics and the local voice in Democratic politics.

 

With no less than 80 percent of the voting population residing in and around cities, Democratic mayors play a critical role in every election. When cities vote, Democrats win.
