Sunrise pulled off our biggest action in history when we occupied Nancy Pelosi's office to demand she kick out fossil fuel money and support a Green New Deal. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined us, we made national news, and she released a Resolution to create a House Select Committee on a Green New Deal -- the first major step to make this game-changing policy a reality.
Ocasio's Resolution is a HUGE opportunity, but it will only pass if we get enough Democrats to support it. That’s why over 300 young people signed up to join Sunrise to pressure local Representatives and ask them to sign on to the Green New Deal Resolution.
Young people are showing we will never back down. The fires in California are still burning and Puerto Rico is still reeling from Hurricane Maria. We need solutions that meet the crisis head on, NOW. The Green New Deal gives us our futures back.
