Meet Our Champions:
Monica Van Buskirk, MBA: A healthcare innovation expert with over 15 years of experience, Monica has worked across healthcare systems, government agencies, and insurance markets to advance reforms that prioritize patients over corporate interests. She has championed initiatives like the Omnisalud program, expanding access to care for those excluded from federal coverage. Her work has driven large-scale system improvements benefiting hundreds of thousands of patients across the region.
Justine Sandoval: A Denver-based community leader and policy advocate whose work centers on reproductive freedom, women’s rights, and equitable public policy. She played a leading role in the grassroots organizing and outreach that helped pass Amendment 79, expanding constitutional protections for reproductive healthcare. Her work strengthens community power and ensures that policy decisions reflect the voices of those most impacted.
Gena Ozols: A policy and strategic professional whose work bridges reproductive justice, economic security, and civic engagement. Her experience in coalition-building includes helping pass Colorado’s LARC program, a nationally recognized model that expanded access to long-acting reversible contraception for young women. Her work advances healthcare access, labor rights, and democratic participation for working families across Colorado.
