For years, I had the honor of representing Northwest Detroit, the community where I was born and raised. Today, I am proud to represent my new friends and neighbors in Redford Township as your Wayne County Commissioner for District 6.
Every day, I work to make sure our communities are heard—not just during election season, but every day of the year.
Together, we have accomplished a lot.
From empowering our youth through the Wayne County Civic Youth Council to supporting more than $100 million in investments in senior housing, parks, and roads, we are working to improve the quality of life throughout District 6.
And, as you can see from all the construction, please excuse our mess—we are putting significant resources into improving our roads and infrastructure.
I Believe in Our Youth.
I founded the Wayne County Civic Youth Council because I believe young people deserve a voice in the decisions that affect their future. We teach them how government works, take them to Lansing and Washington, D.C., and give them opportunities to speak directly with policymakers. Our goal is not simply for our young people to survive—we want them to thrive.
I also continue to fight the War on Trash, because where there is more trash, there is often more crime and fewer opportunities for a community to thrive.
Every neighborhood deserves to be clean, safe, and cared for. I believe government must be transparent, accountable, and willing to speak truth to power—and that underserved residents deserve to be seen, heard, and represented.

Service, Leadership & Advocacy
I am a veteran of the United States Army and have dedicated my career to public service and community advocacy. In addition to serving as your Wayne County Commissioner, I serve as Chair of the Wayne County Civic Youth Council and as Secretary of the National Association of Black County Officials. I am also a past President of the National Association of Counties Women’s Council and serve as a Board of Trustee member of the Detroit Wayne County Port Authority.
At the Wayne County Commission, I serve on the Health and Human Services Committee, where I previously served as Chair; the Veterans and Seniors Committee, where I previously served as Chair; the Economic Development Committee; the Ways and Means Committee; and the Special Committee on Behavioral Health. These roles allow me to advocate for the issues that directly affect our families, seniors, veterans, youth, and neighborhoods.
