This headline is terrifying:

The Trump administration ordered the University of Pennsylvania to turn over records identifying its Jewish employees. UPenn refused to comply with this outrageous and unsafe demand, but a federal judge has now ordered the university to do it anyway.
Forcing a university to identify employees based on religion and turn that information over to the federal government raises serious civil rights concerns and creates risks that cannot be undone once that information leaves their control.
UPenn has also pointed to the well-documented dangers of compiling lists of Jewish people and warned that complying would establish a precedent that extends far beyond a single investigation.
The team at DFA isn't sitting idly by while Trump perpetrates investigations on our country's college campuses. Because if the Trump administration wins this, it'll become a framework that could be applied across colleges, workplaces, and everywhere else, to identify and target any of us.
We all know what America's historical record includes: blacklists, loyalty investigations, and government efforts to catalog people based on identity and belief. Jewish communities have been among the first targeted in moments when fear and politics overtook civil rights.
DFA is standing with UPenn and pushing colleges across the country to stand with them and against the Trump administration. We'll never stop fighting to protect Americans from federal targeting. But we can't do it without your support.
Please, can you chip in whatever you can to help us do this important, urgent work?
