Join the DemsForDogs Movement.


As you may have heard, a 1st year 'DemsForDogs' campaign has been launched to promote all democratic candidates in Lorain and Huron counties by providing candidates a custom dog bandana to give out to 4-legged friends while campaigning to help secure new voters/votes. The initiative includes a pet food/supply drive so candidates can deliver donations (hopefully with media) this summer to selected animal shelter partners.


To pull off an endeavor like this, our own volunteer, Cori Cook, has spearheaded this campaign giving countless amounts of time and energy to pull together the details while enlisting numerous other volunteers to help:

  • A custom logo has been created.
  • A website is in progress.
  • Candidates have custom shirts.
  • Photo shoots are scheduled.
  • One presentation after another has happened to share this initiative at the grass roots level and people are talking about it.
  • Democrats across the county have started collecting donations for the shelters.


The problem? The funding for this project which presented itself as nearly guaranteed was just declined.


While Cori has been weighing options for this campaign, many of us democrats have came together unbeknownst. We won't let her vision of DemsForDogs fail. We will not leave the candidates without tools to help them successfully campaign. We will not abandon the community shelters we've already partnered.


We are grouping together to make this initiative the success we all believe it will be. We invite you to join us.


As Cassie Mitchin, an Amherst resident, retired school teacher and unwavering Democrat, learned about the declined funding, she stood up for animals and democrats alike and said she would like to make a contribution of seed money to get DemsForDogs back on track. Within minutes her generosity inspired other donations and the movement began. This is the moment and your opportunity. Please join the community making DemsForDogs come to life.
