YDG DisCo to the Gold Dome

The Disability Caucus (DisCo) of the Young Democrats of Georgia have one purpose: to advocate for the disabled communities of Georgia! To achieve this, we aim to fundraise $15,000 to send members of the disabled community, from all across Georgia, to the Gold Dome in Atlanta during the 2026 budgeting session to advocate for proper and improved funding of essential programs and services that support and improve the quality of life of our community! We will raise a minimum of $15,000 to sponsor 15 members of our community to the capital to advocate for us all! $1000 will cover travel lodging, and meal expenses for one advocate and their caretaker, if required.

This fundraising campaign is a joint effort between the DPG and YDG DisCo. Many beneficial programs and services for the disabled end up underfunded each year. This is often because there are very few people present to advocate for those that need these essential programs. Often the people in our community want to speak up and advocate for spending on these services, but are unable to due to difficulties such as physical limitations, lack of transportation, travel assistance or distance. This is an excellent opportunity for the DPG and YDG Disability Caucuses to affect change that maintains and improves the lives of the community we represent!
