Donate to help recruit & support progressive candidates of color

Running for office is difficult. Running for office as a person of color, especially as a woman of color, is made that much more arduous because of racism and sexism. With Republican SuperPACs now interfering in Democratic primaries, progressive champions of color — particularly those from low-income communities — are also facing steep funding challenges.

While Daily Kos doesn't have the resources to support a national, grassroots, building-the-bench operation to aid every progressive candidate of color we'd like to support, the good news is that we don't have to!

Thanks for the movement for Black lives, the immigrant rights movement, the environmental justice movement and others, there are already many great organizations doing this work.

That's why Daily Kos is supporting Political Action Committees (PACs) that assist candidates and elected officials of color who champion community priorities like housing, food, clean air and drinkable water, affordable healthcare, quality education, and more. By assisting PACs that focus on the needs of candidates of color, we're helping to shoulder some of the burden.

Please chip in $1 to each of them today to help them elect and protect more and better Democrats of color.

The groups we're helping include:

Black Church PAC: The Black Church PAC is a strategic initiative, answering the call to elect leaders committed to ending mass incarceration, defending the right to vote, curbing gun violence, and representing the equitable treatment of black and brown communities.

BlackPAC: BlackPAC is an independent, Black-led organization that uses the power of year-round political engagement and elections to change our economic, justice, and political systems. They are committed to long-term, sustained engagement with Black voters by building lasting political infrastructure and holding public officials accountable to a policy agenda that defends our rights, promotes dignity, and ends white supremacy.

Black Voters Matter Fund: Black Voters Matter Fund seeks to increase power in our communities by increasing voter registration and turnout, advocating for policies that expand voting rights, helping build capacity and infrastructure for other organizations.

Higher Heights: Higher Heights is the political home for Black women and our allies to unleash our collective organizing power from the voting booth to elected office. Together they are lifting our voices, votes and leadership to push for a democracy that looks like us and represents us.

People First Future: People First Future, founded by former Secretary Julían Castro, will help build a nationwide bench of bold, progressive leaders that will change the face of our politics. We will endorse and support People First Candidates whose campaigns are fighting for those who need a voice.

PowerPAC+: PowerPAC+ builds the political power of the multiracial majority. Their national network coordinates political giving to foster justice and equality in America. They work to elect social justice champions to public office for one simple reason: When we have a strong voice, America is better.

WFP Justice Project: The WFP Justice Fund is a new grassroots PAC to build power for the movement. We will defend elected officials who are bold in this moment when they come under attack, and elect the next generation of leaders who pledge to defund police and shift resources to community needs.
