Elections in odd-numbered years are often overlooked by traditional media outlets, but not by Daily Kos. These off years feature critical downballot elections that have national implications, and 2023 is no different.
Daily Kos has endorsed in three crucial states this November:
- In Ohio, Republicans are trying to ban abortion after five or six weeks, but we're backing Issue 1, which would enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.
- In Pennsylvania, an open state Supreme Court race could impact the 2024 presidential election if Donald Trump tries to steal the state again. We're supporting Democrat Dan McCaffery to make sure that doesn't happen.
- In Virginia, the state legislature is divided between Democrats, who control the state Senate, and Republicans, who control the state House. The majorities in each chamber are very close and it could go anyone's way. Republicans have made clear that an abortion ban and cuts to public education are in the cards if they win. That's why we've endorsed 11 fantastic progressive candidates.
