This fall, Democrats have an excellent chance to smash the GOP's veto-proof supermajority in the Georgia state Senate, and they can do so by uniting behind attorney Jen Jordan.
Jordan is running in a special election for a vacant seat in the Atlanta area that happens to be the bluest Republican-held Senate district in the state. She's a longtime fighter for voting rights, starting with a lawsuit she filed back in 2006 over Georgia's voter ID law—then a pioneering tactic in the GOP's war on voting. She's also an across-the-board progressive and has earned the support of Democratic leaders and progressive organizations throughout the district and state.
However, in the very likely event that no one wins a majority on Nov. 7, the top two vote-getters—regardless of party—will advance to a Dec. 5 runoff. So we not only have to make sure Jordan makes it to the runoff, but that she wins that, too.
Please give $3 today to help Jen Jordan win a key seat for Georgia Democrats and start turning the state blue.
