In a stunning display of contempt for democracy and the rule of law, Wisconsin Republicans tried to prevent—and then cancel—two special elections to fill legislative seats in Wisconsin.


Why? They're afraid of losing.


The two districts in question became vacant in December, but after Democrats won a huge upset in a different—and very red—state Senate seat in January, Walker refused to hold special elections to fill the vacant seats.


When a judge—whom Walker himself had appointed—told the governor to call special elections promptly, Walker teamed up with his GOP cohorts in the legislature to try to literally outlaw them.


They failed, and now two Daily Kos is pleased to endorse Ann Groves Lloyd and Caleb Frostman, the two Democrats running for the seats Walker is terrified of losing.
