Drink.More.Water Fundraiser for the Emergency Release Fund
George Floyd and Breonna Taylor's senseless murders by racist police officers were unfortunately not isolated incidents but part of a larger framework of systematic oppression of African Americans and other POC by law enforcement at every level. Racism is engrained into the very fiber of American law enforcement. As the black community and its allies stand up in protest to this fundamentally flawed system, law enforcement has responded with even more brutality, harassment, and violence.
Scores of protestors all over the country have been unfairly arrested and now find themselves in need of posting high cash bails, simply for exercising their constitutional right to protest. At a time when Covid-19 is still spreading through the country, prisons have become infection hotspots, making the mass emptying of jails all the more imperative.
Drink.More.Water since its beginning has been committed to tangible financial support of social causes. We will match all donations up to $1000. The first 10 donations of $50 or more will receive an exclusive DMW anti-police tee for free, mockup shown below.
