In the year since the Dobbs decision gave the option to legislate abortion back to the states, Republican governors and state legislatures have raced to pass and enact extreme laws to outlaw abortion, threaten doctors with prison time, and put women’s lives at risk. Even here in Maine, Republican legislators have introduced bills seeking to restrict access to abortion and spread medical misinformation about abortion procedures.These measures are deeply unpopular here in Maine and across the country, and Republican politicians are wildly out of touch with the American people.
Republicans have shown us that our rights are not safe under GOP rule while Democrats from state legislatures to the Oval Office are committed to making sure people have more rights, not fewer. Will you join us and send a message that Mainers wont let their rights be taken away?
