Move The Goalposts

2nd Annual Move The Goalposts Summer Fundraising Party

Join us on Saturday, August 23rd, from 1 to 4pm, for an afternoon of food, beer & wine, and politics, hosted by Steve Marchand.

Last year's inaugural event was a fantastic success: We raised over $30,000, over 150 attendees, focused on getting activists, candidates, elected officials, and donors to know each other better, have fun with food and a beer of glass of wine, and put the focus where it belongs - getting more great downballot Democrats elected.

The mission is simple:

Help Democrats regain majorities in the Executive Council, State Senate, and State House, as efficiently as possible, using cutting-edge analytics and 20+ years of grassroots experience to connect data, candidates, and activists in the most competitive districts.

Here's what your money is going towards in 2025:

After spending the last eight months evaluating the data from Election Night 2024, and then doing over 40 in-person, in-depth events with activists statewide, Steve Marchand has come together with Shana Potvin to develop what local committees are asking for:

A user-friendly, constantly-evolving library of specific messaging tailored for each House and Senate district in the state, able to be used with a few clicks on a large number of media platforms.

Here's how it works:

1) We have purchased access to some of the best technology being developed by national Democratic firms, allowing us to surgically distinguish each district's electorate.

2) We then have identified the four most central buckets of issues in state politics, and using cutting-edge technology, will be able to test various messaging to each voter group, on each major issue, and better understand how to communicate in ways that emotionally resonate with the key voters who are deciding which party will hold New Hampshire's balance of power.

3) Finally, the insight gained from this process allows us to develop specific "collateral" - the actual graphics, messaging, and designs - tailored for each of NH's 203 State House and 24 State Senate districts.

We've also developed a way to simply train and engage with activists, candidates, and local Democratic committees so that they are no longer being asked to create all of this from scratch.

This is not cheap - our time and expertise, the technology itself, and the ability to evolve and improve this service at no cost to activists, downballot candidates, or local Democratic committees. We are banking that supporters like you will see the value in this project, and will support it financially.

Last year's event was a ton of fun for a great cause, and our 2nd annual summer fundraising party promises to be even bigger and better. Want to win in 2026? Then please support the work being done in 2025!

Thanks,

Steve
