Doug Schneider was elected as a Member of the Democratic State Committee/District Leader for the 44th AD in September 2018. As District Leader, Doug is fighting for a Brooklyn Democratic Party that is transparent, engages and listens to grassroots Democrats, and mentors the next generation of leaders at all levels. He has been a fierce advocate for the need for greater language access at the polls.
After 18 years as a civil rights and criminal defense attorney, fighting for the rights of employees and people charged with criminal conduct, Doug left private practice. Today, he is the General Counsel for one of the oldest human services non-profits in the country, based here in Brooklyn.
Doug and his wife Joni live in Park Slope with their two children.
