Join the Democratic Party of Evanston at Evanston Township High School for a student-led program with national and local experts from: The Southern Poverty Law Center, The Illinois Holocaust Museum, Logan Consulting Services, LLC, and U. S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (9th).

Presenters include:

  • ETHS Speech and Debate Team: potential responses and solutions to hate speech 

  • Dr. G. Kwesi Cornell Logan, President, Logan Consulting Services, LLC, co-author of brand-new District 65 curriculum, “Power, Profile and Place of the N Word”

  • Kelley Szany, Vice President of Education and Exhibitions, Illinois Holocaust Museum: current U.S. parallels to the Nazi/Holocaust Era and genocides

  • Lecia J. Brooks, Chief Workplace Transformation Officer, The Southern Poverty Law Center: U. S. history of hate speech, current trends, and white nationalism

  • A student conversation with special guest U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (9th Dist.)

Pre-registration required, except for ETHS and District 65 students (adults must register) - registration closes midnight, 10/9/19.

Free admission for ETHS students (with student ID) and free tickets to parents of District 202 and 65 families.

DPOE will donate proceeds to ETHS student scholarships.
