Mark is a retired eye surgeon and small business owner who has lived and worked in Nebraska for over 25 years. Growing up as one of 12 children working on the family farm he learned early the value of hard work and respect for others. He believes strongly in the Constitution, the rule of Law, and protection of human rights and freedoms.

Mark is not a career politician. He doesn't have any big money or a big political machine behind him. What has made him come out of retirement to fight for the people of our area is that he can no longer stand to be idle while everything that he loves about this country is under attack. Our independence, diversity, innovation, even our tradition of ordinary human decency and caring for others at home and abroad — is being destroyed, in real time, in front of our very eyes.

Everything that makes our country TRULY great is under threat and our elected representatives sit idly by while it happens — they are now not only complacent, but complicit in the dismantling of our Democracy.

It is past time to stop thinking as parties and start thinking as patriots — people who truly care for the values on which our country was founded. It is time to stop playing political games at the expense of the American people. It is time to stop bowing to the whims of billionaire donors and big corporations and start working together for the future of our Democracy.

Mark believes that in our District he can reach out to a wider variety of voters of all political and social backgrounds who are worried about our great Nation.
