Born and raised in Snow Hill, Don grew up cropping tobacco in order to have enough money to pay for clothes and school supplies. Through hard work, he earned his way into the U.S Air Force Academy and served as a commissioned officer for eight years in the U.S Air Force. As a first lieutenant he coordinated Air Force One and congressional delegation operations at Andrews Air Force Base and supported military families as a mortuary officer. He earned the rank of captain.

A proven fighter for eastern North Carolina farmers, teachers, veterans and seniors, Davis served for six terms in the North Carolina state senate.

While serving in the North Carolina state senate, he passed 90 pieces of legislation to expand health care coverage, lower utility rates, fund rural schools, and expand broadband internet access.

Now in his second term as a U.S. Congressman, Don Davis continues his fight for eastern North Carolina.

Serving in Congress since 2023, Don has continued his fight in delivering for North Carolina's working class and farming families. He has worked across the aisle on efforts to support our veterans, protect Social Security, and expand access to health care, jobs, infrastructure, and schools.
