Maine's 2nd Cong District is in Play-Help Matt Dunlap Compete

Maine's 2nd congressional district is a closely contested race and could help determine control of the House.

Matt Dunlap is running for the open seat against former Maine Governor Paul LePage, the self-styled “Trump before Trump” Republican nominee.

Dunlap has closed an earlier $1.4M gap in cash on hand to approximately $460,000 as of October 19 (the last time reporting was available) but the financial gap is still substantial. This race is now very close, and Dunlap is underfunded, which is exactly where donations can make the biggest difference!

Dunlap grew up in Bar Harbor and worked as a textile worker, fur trapper, cook, bartender and radio host before entering politics. He has served as a state representative, Maine Secretary of State and State Auditor.

Dunlap’s a progressive whose campaign centers on the cost of living: Medicare for All, universal child care and living wages. This platform should resonate in a largely rural, economically depressed district where people need to work multiple jobs to make ends meet.

With a competitive race, Dunlap needs the money in the home stretch for ads and field work that will continue to introduce him to voters and get the word out about how he can help working Mainers. Let’s give him the boost he needs to defeat LePage and help us get to a Democratic majority in Congress!
