Challenges: Technology, Privacy and AI with Josh Becker

DVC Fundraiser

Saturday Sep 26, 2026, 10:30am - 12:30pm

DVC Headquarters [map link]

2450 E Charleston Rd, Mountain View, CA 94043

Join the Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) for an in-person discussion with our California State Senator Josh Becker (SD-13) on key technology challenges facing the nation and each one of us. RSVP by making a donation here, using the open box for any donation you are comfortable with.

As Josh says: “Our job is to ensure AI works for people, not just profits” and “If we do nothing, AI could widen inequality, destabilize labor markets, and erode confidence in both our economy and our government. If we act thoughtfully, we can try to make sure AI adoption lifts workers up and doesn’t leave them behind."

Elected in 2020, Josh is a long-time supporter of the DVC. He is the author and sponsor of a broad range of key California legislation on AI, technology, privacy, climate, pollution, energy, healthcare, housing, and more. This includes the California Artificial Intelligence Transparency Act (SB 942), the Defending Californians' Data Act (SB 361) and the Delete Act (SB 362).

Josh will discuss the impact of technology on our lives, how state and federal government needs to provide protection, and what is being ignored by the current Trump administration.

This event is a fundraiser for the Democratic Volunteer Center to support our 2026 Campaign Headquarters, where we will hold this event. We are open every day (check map for times) supporting events, resistance partners, phonebanks, postcards, canvassing and more through to election day. Come get engaged!

This event is brought to you by the DVC, the Peninsula Democratic Coalition (PDC), the Santa Clara County Democratic Party (SCCDP), and other partners.
