Representative Yadira Caraveo, a pediatrician and lifelong resident of Colorado, serves as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 8th Congressional District. She was first elected in 2022.


Born to Mexican immigrant parents, Caraveo grew up in a working-class family in Thornton, Colorado. She pursued a career in medicine to address healthcare disparities and later entered politics to expand her impact on public health and social justice.


As a state legislator, she championed healthcare access, environmental protection, and workers' rights.


In Congress, Caraveo continues to advocate for these core issues, focusing on improving the lives of working families in her district.
