Roy Cooper is the current Lt. Governor of North Carolina. He was elected with a narrow margin in Nov 2016. He has been an awesome governor despite the very red legislature.
Roy Cooper has been NC Governor since January 2017. Preivously, Roy Cooper was NC's Attorney General (2001-Jan 2017), and member of NC's legislature for State Senate from 10th SD (1991-2001) and NC House district 72 (1987-1991).
Roy Cooper earned his BA and JD from Univ of NC, Chapel Hill. He and his wife Kristin Bernhardt have three children.
Roy Cooper has been a strong Democrat despite the red legislature resulting from Republican gerrymandering, that has now been directed to be changed.
