Born and raised in North Texas, Colin Allred was brought up by a single mother who was a public school teacher. Despite the challenges, Colin worked hard, graduating from Baylor University, playing in the NFL, becoming a civil rights lawyer, and ultimately representing his community in Congress. As a husband and father, Colin is committed to being present for his family and advocates for paid family leave for all Americans.


Colin believes every Texan deserves the opportunity to achieve their dreams. In Congress, he’s worked across party lines to deliver results—lowering prescription drug prices, securing jobs through a new trade deal with Mexico, and establishing the Garland VA Medical Center to serve veterans and create jobs in North Texas.
