Friends of the Earth

The Southern Resident orca population is at one of its lowest points in decades, and these magnificent creatures are on the BRINK OF EXTINCTION.

Now, only 75 orcas are left in the Southern Resident pods -- and 13 of them are in dire straits as they were recently deemed “vulnerable” due to their astonishingly poor physical condition. But a new shipping terminal and oil pipeline expansion threaten these few remaining whales. Just one oil spill could completely wipe them out.

The odds are against Southern Resident orcas -- two thirds of the pod’s pregnancies end in failure. But we know that people power and direct support from members like you can make the difference. Together, we can work to stop the proposed new megaprojects, save these whales, and protect our planet.

Help protect vulnerable orcas and our planet, and rush a $27 membership donation in honor of World Orca Day -- when your gift will be matched up to $36,000, but only until midnight TONIGHT.
