In Wyoming, a lone hunter singlehandedly chased down the Dog Creek wolf pack and killed them one at a time. Pursuing them on his snow bike, a method called “wolf-whacking,” he filled their last hours with terror and ended 12 innocent lives – wiping out an entire family of wolves. Trophy hunters tear apart wolf families like this all too often.
But things could soon go from bad to worse for wolves, because the Endangered Species Act is under attack. This vital piece of legislation allows us to shield endangered species from violence. Even more, it gives us the power to block destructive industries like Big Oil, logging, and mining from destroying critical habitats for profit and polluting the communities that rely on them. If the ESA is weakened, the habitats that wolves rely on to survive could be DEVASTATED by industrial development – making recovery nearly IMPOSSIBLE for fragile wolf populations.
Friends of the Earth is fighting with everything we can to protect wolves and to defend the Endangered Species Act. Already, thousands of supporters just like you have submitted comments urging our elected leaders to put an end to vicious attacks against the ESA.
Your membership gift will go one step further to support our planet-saving work. But we’re up against some powerful foes. Private trophy hunting and Big Polluter lobbyists have seemingly bottomless resources to get their way. That’s why we’re counting on you to act now: when you give, your donation will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar up to $37,000 before World Habitat Day ends at midnight – going TWICE as far to protect wildlife and their homes and make real change for the planet. With just hours left until our match EXPIRES, can you donate $15 now and DOUBLE your impact?
