Earth Day is approaching us and at OCEJ we aim to practice Earth Love every day. You are invited to a night of community bonding through art, letter writing, food, and an art auction featuring local artists at El Centro Cultural de Mexico.
To RSVP for the event, please make a minimum donation of $15* to our fundraiser. Please present your name and confirmation email at the door! *This price point covers the cost of food and materials for the event and is designed for folks who have any financial barriers. We recommend a higher donation of $20 or more for folks who have more financial ease (i.e., own property, have financial savings, not worried about getting basic necessities met, etc.)
Even if you are unable to donate $15, every dollar counts! We appreciate any and all donations!
Event Date: Friday April 21, 2023 6-8 PM
Your attendance and support will directly help fund our $9,000 goal for our ¡PloNo Santa Ana! campaign. We hope to raise this money to purchase an XRF Scanner for Orange County residents to independently trace lead contamination in their communities. This is a key instrument in building our community toolbox. The ¡PloNo! campaign has been successful in coding environmental justice policies in the 2022 Santa Ana General Plan Update. The next steps documenting lead contamination among residents to secure resources, treatment, and remediation for those affected.
We are also asking support for a member of the unhoused community, Michelle. If you would like to support that cause here is the link to their GoFundMe page.
Together, we will fight for environmental justice by mobilizing and empowering communities and showing care for each other every day.
