In recent years, communities across the country have witnessed a surge in organized and well-funded efforts aimed at disrupting and dismantling public education—through legislative overreach and the imposition of far-right ideological agendas in our classrooms.
If this movement continues to grow without an effective, organized, and well-resourced counterbalance, we risk the widespread politicization of public education—undermining critical thinking, academic integrity, and the very democratic values our schools are meant to uphold.
That’s why Educated We Stand was formed. As a national, grassroots organization, Educated We Stand is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of public education by supporting strong, pro-public education school board candidates and advancing policies that ensure our classrooms remain spaces for evidence-based learning and opportunity for all students.
We hope you’ll join us in this effort at our upcoming reception in Miami on Monday, February 23, graciously hosted by former HHS Secretary Donna Shalala at her home. The evening will feature a student string quartet from Coral Reef Senior High School, recognition of Grammy Teacher of the Year Jennifer Jimenez of South Miami Senior High, and a silent auction featuring original artwork generously donated by educator Susan Feliciano.
This gathering is an opportunity to connect with fellow supporters, learn more about our growing work in key states, and help ensure we have the resources needed to continue building a strong bench of leaders committed to protecting public education.
