For too long, extremists in the Kansas Legislature have refused to support the best interests of all Kansans. By refusing to consider commonsense reforms, our current legislature has failed all of us on several key issues. Rob Egan knows we have to expand Medicaid. Tens of thousands of Kansans aren't able to access healthcare, rural hospitals are being forced to close, and cities are experiencing a lack of healthcare providers. To make things worse, our federal tax dollars are paying for every state around us to expand Medicaid, while Kansans suffer because our legislators refuse to get the job done. But it doesn't end there. Extremists in the legislature are also putting our public schools under attack. With their misguided agenda to support vouchers, we will see teachers and students suffer, the opportunity gap widen, and the future health of our communities be put at risk. Rob Egan understands that strong public schools are the backbone of successful communities all throughout Kansas. If that isn't bad enough, our Legislature is shirking its responsibility to fund special education, denying our school districts the ability to support the wide array of needs covered in special education classrooms. Because our legislature just won't get it done, our special education classrooms do not have essential resources they need, with millions in shortfalls happening all across Kansas. Rob Egan has been an advocate for people with disabilities his whole life, and he won't back down now.
