Tracy Ehlert for Iowa House

It is up to all of us to fight to ensure every child and family in Iowa succeeds. This includes quality education for all children, livable wages and benefits for workers and affordable, accessible, quality healthcare for all. Would you consider donating to fuel this crucial work?

An early childhood educator and small business owner in Cedar Rapids, announced she will run for Iowa House in District 20. Tracy Ehlert of Cedar Rapids is a Democrat and  running for the seat currently held by Rep. Todd Taylor, who has already announced he will be running for Iowa Senate.

Ehlert says, “I’m running for the Iowa House to be a strong voice for Iowa kids and families. It’s time for lawmakers in Des Moines to focus on hard-working families who are being left behind. Every Iowan deserves access to affordable healthcare, a world-class education, and a job with good benefits to support their own family.”

Ehlert has owned and operated an early childhood program for the past ten years and is currently working on her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She teaches a variety of early childhood education courses at Kirkwood Community College. She also serves on several national, state and local early childhood boards and organizations.
