My name is Matt Williams, and I am the Democrat running for state senate in St. Charles County. Senate District 23 is a competitive race in 2028, and a great opportunity to break the super majority.

I’m running to end to our state government's attacks on our schools, libraries, worker's rights, women's reproductive rights, and healthcare.

I grew up in a working-class family in rural St. James. Most in our community didn't have much. But it’s a place where neighbors take care of and treat each other with dignity and respect.

However, I saw the hurt people experienced because they were the little guy in a working-class town. So as a young kid, I dreamed of being an attorney — someone that could right injustices and stand up for the truth. Today, I help folks in St. Charles and rural communities with their legal needs.

I see the future of Missouri at a pivotal moment. As a father of a two-year-old boy, my wife and I want to leave him a Missouri he can be proud of.

My hope is that as a state senator, I can continue to make a positive impact on my community and all of Missouri and give folks the dignity and respect from their state government to live healthy and prosperous lives.
