Frontline Election Defenders is a new campaign to build a movement to defend our communities, our rights, and our votes before, during, and after the election. We're connecting thousands of volunteers with voters to overcome suppression, prepare to turn out on election day, and prepare together for whatever scenario comes next.
Election Defenders are the people at polling locations who are observing polls, engaging media, and de-escalating harassment on Election Day. Voting must be as safe as possible— with PPE, social distancing and a lack of intimidation.
Our Joy to the Polls program further seeks to de-escalate any tensions with music and community, while infusing the process of voting with joy, energy, and excitement. Our goal is to drum up excitement around voting, keep folks happy in the lines, and preserve free and fair elections by reducing the chances of voter intimidation.
