Sara has a valuable and unique perspective to offer the Brookline schools. For 19 years, as a mother of three students, a parent leader at Driscoll and Brookline High, and as a professional school consultant for narrowing achievement gaps, her efforts have been aimed at providing the Brookline high quality education to all students.
Building inclusive schools communities and educating the whole child are her top priorities. Currently, our schools’ biggest challenges stem from the past decade of continual enrollment growth. In the past 14 years, district enrollment has grown 29% to over 7,500 students. Sara supports: 1) Passing the override on May 8th. 2) Finding solutions for K-8 space. 3) Redoubling our efforts to build supportive, inclusive school communities and educating the whole child as we adjust to schools with larger enrollments and more diverse students and families.
