During my first term as mayor, our city was tested, unlike anything we have been exposed to in generations. As your mayor, I have worked to keep our community safe and our economy stable through an unprecedented global pandemic. I have also worked to address issues of racial justice that were brought to the forefront of our nation’s consciousness.  

 

Now we face a new set of challenges as our state and federal governments are becoming more hostile to members of our community.  

We must stand together to fight for justice and ensure Iowa City is a place where truly "We All Belong Here!" 

 

I pledged to you in the beginning that I would welcome “All Voices to the Table” and I am proud that I have kept that promise. 

 

I have spent my days and nights listening to the voices of the community on all sides of complex issues. It is important that we continue to address these issues as we press on at making Iowa City a more affordable, accountable, and accessible community for all. 

 

There is much work to be done and we only succeed by continuing to work together. I have demonstrated my commitment to all constituents and have proven my dedication to pursue unification. 

Your financial support to our campaign will help us cover the costs associated with getting our information out to all voters across the city and spreading our positive message of unity and dedication to the principles which make this community strong.
