Elizabeth O’Connor is running for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents in District 4.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, O’Connor represented the campus as the Student Regent from 2011-2012. O’Connor then went on to graduate from Notre Dame Law School. She now practices at Lamson, Dugan, and Murray as a Litigation Associate Attorney.
“It was a true honor to represent Omaha students as a Student Regent, where I was an advocate for the University to be funded fairly, to spend prudently, and to invest wisely in our future. I’d like to continue that work as a Regent,” said O’Connor.
At the end of her term, the Board of Regents commended O'Connor for her service to the University, saying "Regent O’Connor has never failed to look at the bigger picture with each decision made… [she] has gone well above and beyond her duties as a Student Body President and Student Regent and has become an admirable and true leader…."
While in law school, O’Connor was editor-in-chief of the Notre Dame Journal of Legislation and a member of the Notre Dame Economic Justice Clinic. Currently, O’Connor is a board member of the Friends of Nebraska Children and mentor to the University of Nebraska at Omaha Underserved Law Opportunity Program (ULOP).
