This summer 15 other fellows and I are taking on the task of building SF support to target President Biden in his ability to cancel $50K of federal student loan debt per person - with the flick of a pen! Your donation today will support their grassroots organizing work to talk to thousands of community members in some of the Bay Area's densest student debt "distress hotspots" and plan a meaningful final action to pressure local and national elected leaders to relieve working-class communities of color in this post-pandemic society.
This means a lot to me as a born and raised daughter in San Francisco of an immigrant family from Wuhan. Attending UW as an out-of-state student has been financially hard for my family, similarly to the over 40 million people canceling student debt would help. Not only does your donation fight for my education journey to my career dreams, it does so for other students as well, especially BIPOC working class students who face a disparate amount of institutionalized barriers and inequalities from systems of oppression.
