Drop-off Black voters are the key to the 2014 election in crucial Senate races in North Carolina, Louisiana, and Georgia.
Luckily, ColorOfChange has already been doing something called “in-cycle testing” to Black voters who voted when President Obama was on the ballot but stayed home in 2010. We’ve developed a mobilization program that nearly doubled drop-off Black voters knowledge of election day.
There’s one big problem though: we only had funding for the initial test to prove our methods work. We need to raise $50,000 this week to expand this program for a digital ads surge contacting drop-off Black voters before election day in 12 days.
This election will determine what happens in Washington for the last two years of President Obama’s term. Will he finally get a Congress he can work with to provide meaningful changes like raising the minimum wage, reducing outrageous student debt burdens and fighting for equal pay for women? OR is the GOP going to take control of both chambers of Congress and begin the right-wing fantasy they’ve been planning: impeaching the first Black President?
And we’re not just guessing about this voter mobilization strategy. We developed it with the data wizards at the Analyst Institute who crunched the numbers that helped elect President Obama.
We’ve already implemented the strategy to the test groups in North Carolina, Georgia and Louisiana. If we raise $50,000 in the next week, we can expand this program to create a surge of Black voters to make our voices heard in senate races across the country.
