Empower Oakland Committee

This fall, the people of Oakland face a make-or-break election for our city. Voters will decide whether to recall the mayor and district attorney. And they will choose 5 city council members, a county supervisor, the city attorney and more.

How can a hard-working Oaklander make sense of this? There is too much noise and way too little trustworthy information out there. Voters are busy, and don't always have time to research every issue.

The Empower Oakland Committee believes voters want commonsense politicians who care about Oakland's primary challenges: rising crime, rampant homelessness, harsh conditions for small businesses, and the city's budget woes.

Empower Oakland will do the research and share with Oaklanders what is happening in City Hall. We will provide simple and clear explanations of which politicians are effective and which are not.

Closer to the election, we'll launch a voter guide that will cut through the noise and offer voters real alternatives: candidates who are committed to solving our biggest problems, in practical ways. We will distribute the guide via mail, email and a website.

Our strategy builds upon the successful playbook employed in San Francisco by GrowSF. We researched many different orgs in SF and realized GrowSF has a unique model that has had the biggest impact on winning elections for commonsense candidates.

Your money will go to only one thing: advertising the guide and our message. We have a dedicated group of founders, experienced political minds, and executives who are volunteering their time to help with the newsletter, website, and voter guide research.

By giving to Empower Oakland Committee, you will effectively be giving money to all of the races in Oakland, because we will be promoting a slate of the most competent and effective candidates in Oakland. This city cannot be governed by just 1 office. It requires a team of elected officials - the Mayor, District Attorney, City Attorney, City Councilmembers and County Supervisors need to all work together.

Please consider giving $100, $1,000 or even $5,000 to our cause.
