As a Boone resident since 2011 and a key figure in preserving Boone's history and architecture for the past 12 years, I am seeking election to Boone Town Council this November.
We have a great town, and many of us are fortunate to enjoy many of the benefits that our climate, infrastructure, educational resources, and attractions in Boone and the High Country provide.
But there is also a lot of work to do. First and foremost, Boone is facing a devastating housing crisis that is forcing many of our working class residents to leave Boone and Watauga County for more affordable opportunities off the mountain. This situation impacts all of us--workers, residents, local businesses, and our community organizations. The present pattern is simply not sustainable. I will help lead our town government to real, tangible, and timely actions to address this problem for the long term.
