Erin Hofteig

Honor Erin forever in our hearts

Erin Hofteig dedicated more than twenty years of her life to democracy work, progressive causes, and the people who make this movement possible.

She was a strategist, organizer, communicator, technologist, mentor, collaborator, and friend to so many across our community. Erin helped campaigns, organizations, unions, nonprofits, and advocacy groups build stronger movements and stronger connections between people. She believed deeply in democracy, justice, and the power of community.

Like so many who dedicate themselves to this work, Erin also experienced the difficult realities of the profession — burnout, instability, and the emotional weight that often comes with fighting for change. Through it all, she continued showing up for the people and causes she loved.

In partnership with Erin’s family, Global GAIN is creating the Erin Hofteig Fellowship & Support Fund to honor her memory and legacy. The fund is being developed to support organizers, democracy workers, and advocates committed to this work while helping build a more sustainable and supportive democracy profession for the people dedicating their lives to it.

Your contribution will help us carry Erin’s memory forward by investing in community, leadership, mentorship, and support for the next generation of changemakers.

Thank you for helping us honor Erin’s life, spirit, friendship, and impact.
