My name is Evelyn Kocher and I'm running for Position 1 on Beaverton City Council.

I was lucky enough to grow up in Beaverton. All of my schools, my mosque, my favorite parks--all of them were in Beaverton. Now, I want to give back.

As a queer and trans person and a first-generation immigrant, I know the importance of protecting the rights of the communities that call Beaverton home. On City Council, I will do everything I can to leverage the city's resources against federal stormtroopers that are seeking to tear Beaverton families apart and to protect and codify the rights of all Beavertonians.

I am passionate about local government and experienced at navigating it, but most of all, I want to make sure community voices lead policy conversations to ensure that our city works by and for its people. I love Beaverton and want to make it an even better place to work, live, and play--for all of us.
