Pennsylvania is a swing state and a battleground, so it might surprise you to learn that in the last election, Democrats didn't contest 49 state legislative seats – 19% of the races up in 2024.
And of the Democrats who did run, 42 were underfunded – having less than what research shows helps boost voter turnout by 1%. Ten had less than a thousand dollars.

But that was last cycle. This cycle, that's changing.
In a state where Democrats hold the state House by a single seat and the governorship is on the ballot, we can't leave anything on the table.
Pennsylvania Democrats are running for state legislature in record numbers and in some of the reddest places in the state. They're organizing their communities, giving voters a choice, and forcing Republicans to spend money they thought they'd save.
But without funding for campaign basics like door hangers, postcards, yard signs, or gas to reach neighbors across sprawling districts, even the most committed candidate is fighting with one hand tied behind their back.
First In Line funds Democratic state legislative candidates in Pennsylvania's most overlooked districts – starting with districts that went completely uncontested in the last cycle and working our way out from there.
Our goal is $2,500 per candidate – enough for yard signs, postcards, and gas money – basics that make the difference between a real campaign and just a name on a ballot.
In a state decided by margins this thin, and with the stakes as high as they are in 2026, Democrats can't afford to leave any candidate under-resourced.
These candidates are showing up and running hard in some of the hardest places. Let's make sure they know they're not doing it alone.
We fund in rounds: uncontested districts first, then Solid R, Likely R, and Lean R. Once a round hits its goal, the next opens. A candidate not listed may not yet qualify for this round, may still have a primary, or may not have an ActBlue page set up.
