First In Line: South Dakota

In South Dakota, Republicans hold 65 of 70 state house seats and 32 of 35 in the state senate.

Running as a Democrat here takes guts.

These candidates aren't running because the odds are good. They're running because someone has to stand up, force some accountability, speak truth to power, and make sure voters in every corner of the state have a choice.

First In Line is for them.

First In Line funds the candidates doing the hardest work in the hardest places. By running, they're giving voters a choice, holding extremists accountable, and refusing to let Republicans go unchallenged.

Our target is $2,500 per candidate – enough for yard signs, postcards, and gas money – basics that make the difference between a real campaign and just a name on a ballot.

These candidates aren't waiting to be rescued. They just need to know someone's got their back. And we do. We hope you do, too.

*We fund in rounds: uncontested districts first, then Solid R, Likely R, and Lean R. Our target is to raise $2,500 per candidate. Note: The current fundraising goal is a milestone toward that overall target. Once we raise the equivalent of $2,500 per page recipient (which in SD's Round 1 is $25,000), the next round opens.
