Texas Democrats just did something that hasn't happened in a long time. They are contesting every single state legislative district – even the reddest ones.

That's not just inspiring – it's an opportunity to reach every voter in every corner of a state that's got a governor's race and a Senate seat on the ballot.

The organizing done by down-ballot candidates matters – both for their own race and for races up-ballot. Research shows that going from an uncontested race to a contested one leads to a 1.5% vote share increase for the top of the ticket.

But candidates in the reddest districts often struggle to get the resources they need to run a real campaign.

In 2024, half of Texas state legislative races were either uncontested or underfunded.

That's a problem we can solve.

Texas Democrats have already done the hard part – there's a candidate in every race. With First In Line, we're funding them – starting with the candidates who are running in districts that went completely uncontested in 2024.

These candidates are giving voters a choice in places that haven't had one in years, holding extremists accountable, and building the Democratic infrastructure Texas needs to keep the momentum going. They're forcing Republicans to defend their territory and spend money they thought they'd save. And they're turning out voters that will lift the statewide ticket.

Our target is $2,500 per candidate – enough for yard signs, postcards, and gas money – basics that make the difference between a real campaign and just a name on a ballot.

First In Line funds in rounds: uncontested districts first, then Solid R, Likely R, and Lean R. Once a round hits its goal, the next opens. A candidate not listed may not yet qualify for this round, may still have a primary, or may not have an ActBlue page set up.
