The Democrats of Southwest Riverside County are hosting a fundraiser at Harveston Center located at 40135 Village Road, Temecula CA 92591, on Sunday, September 27, 2015, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. 2016 is going to be a very big year in politics. This is a real opportunity to turn our area Blue, elect a Democratic President, and gain more Blue positions at local, state and federal levels. Here is what we do with our funds:
• Open a headquarters in the even years for the major elections for phone banks, meetings, and "Meet the Candidate" events. • Support local, state and federal candidates. • Voter registration throughout the Southwest Riverside County area. • Scholarships to high school seniors in Temecula, Murrieta, and Lake Elsinore.
There are no paid officials, it's an all volunteer grassroots organization. WE, you and me, are the grassroots effort. WE are the ones who make a difference. And WE can have fun while we organize and turn our legislatures Blue!
The luncheon at Harveston will feature Virgil Gibson, former lead singer for the World Famous Platters! He will be singing your favorite songs, AND sharing his experiences during the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham, Alabama. This is a wonderful opportunity to be inspired by Virgil's story, and to listen to the music that melted our hearts. Italian buffet including soda, beer and wine.
