The Other 98% Action

We're fighting back.

Facebook just threatened to delete Other98’s page because we shared this meme, saying we violated their Community Standards:

If recognizing that Colin Kaepernick’s vilified peaceful protest is vastly different from Kyle Rittenhouse crossing state lines with an illegal firearm and killing 2 Black Lives Matter activists is against Community Standards, what kind of community is Facebook building?

We’re fighting back―but it won’t be easy. Can you chip in to our campaign to fight for fair treatment on the biggest media platform on the planet?

Here’s the truth: Other98 is under constant assault from Facebook, even as they turbocharge the reach of right wing fake news pages. We can’t quit Facebook in protest and leave the largest and most influential media platform to right wing maniacs.

Since mid-October, we’ve seen our page Reach cut in half by Facebook’s algorithm, and ours isn't the only page on the left that this happened to.

Meanwhile, rightwing misinformation is allowed to spread unchecked, threatening local election officials, public health officials, and our democracy. This is an existential crisis for Other98.

This won’t be an easy fight, but it’s a necessary one. Can you chip in to our campaign to fight for fair treatment on the biggest media platform on the planet?
