Join/Renew MI List's Founders Council to Elect More Women in Michigan!
MI List, founded in 2004, is Michigan's premier organization dedicated to increasing the number of pro-choice Democratic women in positions of leadership, influence and power.
The MI List Founders Council was established in 2014 to build a network of sustaining givers to fuel our work. Founders Council members commit to giving a minumum of $1000 annually for at least three years. Members may make a one-time contribution or set up monthly recurring payments of $85 or more.
The 2024 election cycle was a setback for women running for the highest offices in our country. In Michigan, however, we continue to support and elect pro-choice women leaders. MI List contributed to the victories of newly elected US Senator Elissa Slotkin and newly elected Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet and of Justice Kyra Harris Bolden and Kimberly Thomas to the Michigan State Supreme Court, increasing the progressive majority to 5-2. While we did lose the progressive majority in the State House, women make up the majority of the Democratic caucuses in Lansing.
2026 will be another critical cycle for pro-choice candidates. Not only can we retake the State House, but we must continue to elect strong women leaders at the executive, state legislative, judicial, and local levels. Every elected seat in both chambers as well as Governor, Attornery General and Secretary of State will be on the ballot.
State government is the back stop to federal attacks on reproductive choice, racial justice, healthcare, public education, environmental protections, small business and voting rights. Women are leading efforts to stop these attacks and bring a new era of equity, access and economic security to all Michiganders.
